Special Projects Coordinator for Industry Relations and Major Initiatives

The MIT Center for Real Estate (CRE) is known for its world-renowned graduate degree program, serves as a research center that includes four world-class research labs, and is a hub and network of thought-leadership for its Industry Partners Program.
CRE seeks a special projects coordinator for industry relations and major initiatives to handle diverse duties and function as both an individual contributor and key member of a dynamic, team-oriented group of faculty, staff, and researchers in an entrepreneurial start-up environment.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate high-profile activities, events, and initiatives associated with the Industry Partnership Program and major initiatives
- Maintain excellent client service/relationships with industry partners
- Support the day-to-day operations, processes, and systems needed to cultivate and maintain ongoing reporting and relationship management for major initiatives, multimillion-dollar collaborations, and major unrestricted gifts supporting the center’s education, research, and industry outreach missions
- Manage alumni/donor relations

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least three years’ related experience
- Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and best practices of industry relations and major donor-funded initiatives
- Advanced-level proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, website content management software (e.g., WordPress, Drupal), and CRM databases (e.g., Salesforce, FileMaker Pro)
- Willingness to learn additional software
- Excellent customer service, writing, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Experience managing and executing high-profile events
- Good judgment and discretion with confidential issues
- Initiative and accountability
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team, participate on formal/informal working groups, and build relationships across MIT and with external constituents to effectively facilitate the center’s cultivation and fund-raising goals
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a global environment
- Bilingualism
