What will you be doing in this role? A successful candidate will:

General Purpose: In order to maintain a comprehensive development and tracking of grants from private and public sectors, including detailed financial reporting, the Grants Manager participates in all phases of grant writing and financial tracking of STRIDE grants and preparation of Federal, State and private grant funding entities.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Forecast STRIDE grant needs, including researching new grants.
  • Work with organizational leadership to identify areas of need and understand STRIDE programs.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure that grant applications are appropriately researched, communicated to leadership and program staff and receive approval prior to submission. 
  • Lead all grant writing for new and continuing grant submissions, ensuring complete and timely applications.
  • Partner with all departments to develop grant budgets and manage grant spending.
  • Track receipts and report payments of checks for grant distributed funds.
  • Work with finance to submit invoices for grant fund reimbursement.
  • Work with finance to track grant program budgets and reimbursements.
  • Work with leadership to track grants connected to STRIDE employment positions.
  • Manage payroll tracking of grant funded positions.
  • Complete required federal grant forms, budget documents and program updates.
  • Collaborate with leadership and program staff to monitor grant deliverables and compliance.
  • Support grant program management and coordination of activities supported by grant programs.
  • Attend grant meetings with internal and external program staff.
  • Purchase supplies for grant programs.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and provide support for grant funded programs to implement PI/ QI projects.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and electronic health record administrators to ensure grant program objectives are adequately tracked and reported upon.
  • Collect data, write program update narrative, and submit timely reports to funders.
  • Support grant programs in submitting timely and accurate reports as required by funders.
  • Prepare for and participate in grant compliance meetings and site visits with funding agencies.
  • Collaborate with Contract Manager to ensure all grant contracts are fully executed.
  • Represent STRIDE at external meetings, events and speaking engagements.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for foundations, local government funders and state funders. Ensure that STRIDE is meeting its financial strategic efforts for annual grant income and sustainability of current funding sources (2% of annual total budget).
  • Participate in the planning, coordination, and organization of all STRIDE fundraising events.
  • Develop case statements and fundraising materials to increase individual and corporate contributions.
  • Engage in outreach with foundations, healthcare partners and external stakeholders to drive strong partnerships in the community.
  • Participate in advocacy efforts to include tours and meetings with elected officials, advocating for support for healthcare policy changes, and communicating opportunities for advocacy participation to employees.
  • Provide supervision and training to the Grants Coordinator.
  • Support organizational initiatives through participation in Cultural Advocacy, Quality Improvement, external engagement (REACH) and the Risk Management committees, as well as any other identified priorities.

Administrative / Other:

  • May be required to participate in UDS reporting.
  • Assist in gathering fund and grant related information for STRIDE’s annual report.

Non-Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Attend all staff meetings and all other meetings as assigned.
  • Participate in the planning, coordinating, and organizing of STRIDE fundraising events.

    A successful candidate will possess the following education or formal training

    Knowledge, skill and ability:

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines.
    • Ability to interact positively and build rapport with patients, coworkers and/or external contacts.
    • Understanding of public health.
    • Demonstrate the capability to effectively and sensitively respond to the needs and concerns of the full range of STRIDE’s diverse patient population.
    • Demonstrated customer service skills, ability to collaborate with others with tact and diplomacy.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
    • Understanding of grant funding sources.
    • Ability to handle sensitive financial information ethically and responsibly.

    Education or Formal Training:

    • Bachelor’s degree.

    Experience:

    • Experience with grant writing and reporting.
    • Experience in public relations/ communication.
    • Experience in healthcare.

    Material and equipment directly used:

    Computer, printer, multi-line telephone systems, mobile phone, personal transportation vehicle, fax machine, copy machine, calculator, and all Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel and the internet.

    Working environment/physical activities:

    Office environment.  Data entry via computer, mouse and keyboard.  Moves about the office environment and occasionally to other locations. Moves/transports objects up to 25 lbs occasionally.  Moves/transports objects up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally to various locations throughout the metro area. Communicates information to others. Communicates information to others. Discerns/analyzes information from others to assist in decision making processes.
