Description of the Organization: A recognized non-profit organization in both France and the United States, the American Hospital of Paris aims to offer the best of French and American medicine to our patients. Within the context of our current strategic plan, our goal is to become one of the top 5 international hospitals in Europe within the next five years. In order to secure the funding needed to advance towards this goal, the Development Department (6 people, of which 3 focus on Major Gifts), is hiring a Major Gifts Officer to specialize in international giving.

Our new Major Gifts Officer (International Giving) will develop our philanthropic initiatives, specifically within the American community living in both France and the United States. (S)he will actively contribute to the success of the Hospital’s current Capital Campaign (2018 – 2023).

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the main objectives of the Major Gifts Officer (International Giving) include:

  • Leading the development and implementation of our international donor strategy, including the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major international donors;
  • Manage a portfolio of 150 high-capacity donors and prospects (individuals and foundations);
  • Raise major and principal gifts from international donors in support of our Capital Campaign (2018-2023);
  • Development our fundraising initiatives and create a campaign dynamic in the United States by working closely with the leadership of our Foundation (based in New York);
  • Organize events for major gift donors (program inaugurations at the Hospital, cocktails, etc.);
  • Provide personalized accompaniment for Anglophone donors at the Hospital;
  • Work with Hospital leadership (directors, medical staff, finance team) to prepare grant proposals and reports earmarked for specific Hospital initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (bac +5)
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role working with Major Gift Donors

Job Type: This is a full-time, long-term management-level position (CDI temps plein – Statut: Cadre)
