VP of Development & Community Engagement

Friends For Life’s Director of Marketing and Communications will serve as the agency’s point of contact to engage in activities necessary to communicate the value of the agency’s diverse programs and services, as well as provide branding and marketing activities that promote the agency’s mission and relevance. Duties will include all facets of communications internally and externally, including staff communications, social media efforts, brand consistency and community engagement efforts, such as public speaking and media relations, to elevate the agency’s perception and profile in the minds of the public.

Leadership

• Collaborate with FFL’s leadership team to develop and implement strategic direction of the organization to optimize daily operations and achieve growth and organizational objectives
• Select, manage, train and support the marketing team; coach employees/contractors/vendors to meet objectives
• Serve on the leadership team and be the voice of marketing and communications in weekly and monthly meetings, as well as board meetings as required

Branding and Marketing

• Oversee all branding, marketing and public relations efforts, emphasizing brand consistency and project management
• Create and manage a marketing process that assists internal clients with marketing requests and defines scope, strategy, timeline, content and fulfillment for each project; manage expectations for marketing deliverables
• Create and maintain an effective marketing and PR plan, including media placements and social media content management as required
• Co-create an effective internal communications strategy that supports the goals of Human Resources and special projects
• Recommend community engagement opportunities in and around Memphis and act as a media spokesperson as requested
• Other duties as assigned

Event Planning and Production

• Assist the Director of Development with the branding and promotion of special events throughout the year
• Assist in the execution of events as required.

Volunteer Management

• Oversee coordination of FFL volunteer and intern recruitment and management with appropriate department needs
