Development Associate, Major Gifts

Washington, DC

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a unique global network of policy research centers in Russia, China, Europe, the Middle East, India and the United States, is seeking a Development Associate to join its development team in Washington, DC.

The Development Associate, Major Gifts will report to the VP for Development and will coordinate Board and major individual donor fundraising from donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. Responsibilities include prospect and donor research, pipeline and moves management for a portfolio of 75-100 prospects, coordination with program scholars and executive staff on individual donor outreach and proposal development, generating data and donor lists.

The position requires 2-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a think tank or higher education fundraising setting and working knowledge of fundraising databases. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess good judgment and excellent organization and communication skills. The ability to manage and meet deadlines is essential as is the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and be flexible towards changing priorities.
