The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will perform a number of critical and diverse roles for Catholic Charities USA’s (CCUSA) Communications and Marketing team. The position will serve as an assistant project manager, a digital content specialist, and an administrative liaison to CCUSA’s Chief Communications and Marketing Officer (CCMO), the Vice President for External Relations, and the Senior Director of Marketing. The position reports to CCUSA’s CCMO.

  • As project manager, the position will use the department’s project management platform to build project schedules, forecast hours for projects, coordinate with different teams to ensure that projects start and finish on time and that all stakeholders have reviewed and approved them in a timely manner, and enforce process during projects.
  • As a digital content specialist, the position will assist in updating content online while maintaining the design standards of the site, curate content for regular emails (such as a daily staff email and a weekly member agency email), and manage email lists and databases.
  • As an administrative liaison, the position will process invoices, finalize contracts, execute media buys, monitor media, and manage communications with CCUSA board Communications and Marketing Committee members, in addition to providing general administrative support to the team.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plays a pivotal role in keeping projects moving internally
  • Demonstrates a proficiency with project management tools to set deadlines, track resources, and ensure team member accountability
  • Works proficiently inside a content management system to update the CCUSA website
  • Processes invoices, updates budgets, and conducts monthly financial reviews with the CCMO
  • Writes clear, concise, and grammatically correct copy
  • Works with the Senior Director of Marketing to track the performance of CCUSA websites and SEO
  • Works with the Database Administrator to build emails and manage lists
  • Works with the VP for External Relations to monitor media coverage for CCUSA, distribute releases, and communicate with CCUSA staff and member agencies via email with relevant news items about CC and strategic priority areas
  • Works with the CCMO to manage the administrative needs of the board Communications and Marketing Committee including scheduling and the publishing of minutes.

Education & Experience:   

  • BS/BA (or equivalent experience) in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field
  • A minimum of three years of professional experience with a demonstrated command of project management, managing digital properties, and providing excellent administrative assistance.
