impact in under-resourced communities. THE
OPPORTUNITY The Mission Continues is looking for a
dynamic leader to serve as our Director,
Corporate and Foundation Relations. This person
will develop and implement the strategy of a growing corporate
and foundation relationship program. He/she/they will oversee
and implement the prospecting, cultivation,
solicitation and growth strategy of a diverse portfolio of top
tier corporate and foundation funding partners. The Director
will develop new existing funding partnerships that ensure
alignment between our mission and corporate social responsibility
priorities and foundation goals. This position
will have one direct report. He/she/they will oversee the
Corporate and Foundation Relations Manager who will be responsible
for managing and growing the exiting mid-tier giving
program and supporting new business. The
ideal candidate for this position is someone who is a strategic
thinker, creative problem solver and strong relationship
builder with the ability to navigate complex internal and external
relationships. This person has a passion for respecting and
empowering our nation’s veterans, and is comfortable working in a
fast-paced, innovative, start-up environment. The location is
flexible within the 40 cities
where we have an active platoon presence. WHAT YOU
WILL BE DOING: - Create and direct strategy to acquire and
grow and top tier corporate and foundation relationships through
best-in-class prospecting, stewardship and cultivation. - Supervise
manager that will oversee growth strategy of mid-tier corporate and
foundation relationships. - Implement new business plan by
conducting research and proactive outreach. - Manage diverse
portfolio of funders and regularly connect via phone, video
conference and in-person meetings and events. - Actively support
collaboration within and between departments and with key
stakeholders. - Oversee funder proposal process, stewardship and
reporting for portfolio of funders. - Maintain accurate records of
donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities through
organizations CRM. - Support Chief Development Officer and Senior
Leadership team on donor stewardship to maximize the results of
their meetings with potential and current partners. - Create
presentations, proposals, decks and reports for funder solicitation
and stewardship. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: -
Confident and creative leader who is comfortable with soliciting
new relationships and cultivating existing relationships. -
Knowledge of corporate and/or foundation philanthropy landscape—
particularly those interested in veterans and/or community impact.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable
presenting and public speaking. - Strong organizational,
prioritization and project/time management skills. - Familiarity
with non-profit organizations and fundraising principles and
practices. - Ability to successfully exercise discretion and
independent judgement to reach goals. - Detail-oriented, highly
organized, self-starter, capable of taking direction but working
independently and collaboratively with a team. - A passion and
commitment to empowering veterans and communities. - Must be
flexible and able to work some evenings and weekends including up
to 25% travel to various locations around the country.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Account management
experience - Nonprofit management experience preferred -
Familiarity with Salesforce CRM - 9 to 12 years of related work
experience TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: (Outside of global
pandemic). Must have the ability to travel to multiple
cities throughout the United States. Multi-day and/or weekend
travel will be required on program event dates for in-person
events, and online for virtual events. Flex time is available.
There may be long days with virtual programming continuing into the
evening hours. Some longer sessions may be held over the weekend.
