USC Price School is seeking an experienced fundraiser for the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations.  Reporting to the Price School’s Associate Dean of Advancement, the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating activities, developing strategies, building relationships, drafting proposals, and raising funds from corporations and foundations.

Responsibilities:

  • Raises funds from corporations and foundations by developing strategies to strengthen relationships with current donors and building relationships with new prospects.
  • Works with the Price School’s Associate Dean of Advancement to develop and meet an annual corporate and foundations fundraising plan that includes measurable goals, metrics, and specific strategies for expanding both levels and sources of support.
  • Builds internal relationships with Price faculty and staff to acquire an understanding of the Price School’s academic and research portfolio to identify strong matches with potential funders.
  • Performs extensive research and works with USC advancement research colleagues to identify corporations and foundations whose program guidelines make them likely sources for support of the Price School’s research and other priorities as identified by leadership.
  • Identifies, qualifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards a portfolio of corporate and foundation prospects.
  • Drafts high-quality and timely proposals, LOIs, sponsorship documents, correspondence, impact/stewardship reports, and other documents to request funding and support best practices in corporate and foundation relations.
  • Presents fundraising LOIs, sponsorship opportunities, and proposals to corporations and foundations while meeting deadlines and guidelines from the funders. 
  • Gathers and shares information about trends in corporate and foundation philanthropy that may be of value to Price School colleagues.
  • Accurately enters and updates information in Salesforce to reflect contact with donors while maintaining confidentiality of donor information.
  • Collaborates with the Central Advancement team and other USC units to create and implement strategies for cultivation, solicitation, and financial support. 
  • Ensures compliance with all University fundraising policies, goals and procedures, including following all protocols for prospect and donor management established and implemented by USC Advancement. 
  • Represents the Price School at professional and university meetings, seminars, events, and conferences as appropriate.
  • Ability to work remotely and independently.  Self-motivation and discipline to meet deadlines are required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Qualifications:

  • Experienced corporate and foundation relations fundraising professional with a demonstrated track record of personally closing gifts of $500,000-$1M+.
  • Excellent writing skills for various audiences such as institutional funders, subject matter experts, lay persons, and the general public.  Narratives should be convincing and evidence-based.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build bridges and collaborative relationships across a complex organization with astuteness and agility.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.  Weekend and evening work on occasion. 

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred
