GRANT SPECIALIST
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Personal stability, flexibility, energy, and commitment to working toward the agency mission.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
- Significant proficiency with the use of computers and common business software.
- Demonstrated willingness and capacity to search, identify, and apply for funding opportunities on multiple platforms.
- Superior command of written English, including forms for reports, letters, other documents.
- Highly developed organizational and time management skills with Intrinsic and Autonomous Ability to Identify and Appy for Funding to Benefit the Mission of the Organization.
- Meet requirements as set out in Policy and Procedures.
- A Grant Certification from a Recognized Association is preferred.
DUTIES:
- Search, identify, apply, & obtain funding from foundations, government entities, and citizens.
- Manage submission deadlines, grant writing and editing independently for multiple opportunities at the same time.
- Carefully review and selecting opportunities, keeping a close eye on application deadlines.
- Clearly communicate needs and goals to obtain funding.
- The Specialist may be asked to present on a regular basis, both to review proposed grants and to report on those already secured.
- Grant specialists must clearly communicate with the granting organizations to increase the likelihood of successful applications.
- Be the liaison between the agency and funding sources.
- Manage the Administrative & technical work involving the receipt, review and approval of proposals and awards and post-award administration.
- Work in Collaboration with other Directors to fund initiatives.
- Serve on committees and attend meetings as requested by supervisor.
- Adhere to accreditation bodies standards and Maryland / Federal state regulations.
- Maintain information and grants library.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
AUTHORITY: Position reports to CEO, CFO, & CHRO and receives schedules, assignments, and evaluations from same.
CLASSIFICATION, SALARY AND BENEFITS: Regular, full time position; exempt from overtime; see published salary scale.
