Inner City Law Center (ICLC) is a nonprofit law firm in Skid Row in Downtown Los Angeles. We are looking for extraordinary people to help us end homelessness in Los Angeles. Founded on the fundamental principle that every person should always be treated with dignity and respect, ICLC fights for justice for low-income tenants, working-poor families, people experiencing homelessness, people living with HIV/AIDS, people with disabilities, and homeless veterans.

 

Position Description: ICLC seeks an Associate Director of Development to work with the Director of Development to develop and implement fundraising activities, and to promote an effective culture of philanthropy throughout the organization.

 

The Associate Director of Development will:

  • Work with the Director of Development to create key strategies to drive Inner City Law Center’s fundraising efforts.
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities and operations of the development department.
  • Design, create, and produce appeals and campaigns targeted to individuals, including mail and email campaigns, as well as other targeted efforts, following established best practices.
  • Help create strategies to ensure a healthy donor acquisition pipeline that leverages board and staff relationships, events, mailings, online campaigns, peer-to-peer fundraising, and volunteers.
  • Coordinate logistics and administration for annual luncheon and other events; assume responsibility for venue, mailing lists, tracking responses, fundraising pages, etc.
  • Create and implement creative and meaningful methods of thanking donors.
  • Assist with writing, editing, and producing content for materials to expand and enhance ICLC’s visibility and reputation, including but not limited to thank you letters, newsletters, brochures, event invitations, event sponsorships, donor proposals and online content.
  • Maintain a highly collaborative relationship with other departments and programs.

 

Hiring Criteria: Commitment to ICLC's mission and values and a demonstrated understanding of issues affecting low-income communities and communities of color. Proven ability to write compelling solicitation letters and other donor-focused materials. Ability to manage and track multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities in a fast-past, deadline-driven environment. Must be detail-oriented, contentious self-starter. Strong computer skills, including MS Office programs and donor management platforms.

 

Compensation: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits.
