CMC:Foundation for Change is a young & energetic non profit organization seeking a dynamic development professional who can cultivate a small portfolio of major donors and expand our giving capacity through new individual donors and corporate giving.
We currently have a small base of passionate donors who have personal connections to our organization and its mission. The Director of Development will continue to grow these existing relationships, while also building out our branding and marketing infrastructure to secure new lines of funding.
The ideal candidate will be excited to join an organization without a formal fundraising department, where they will need to originate and enact a fundraising plan with support from Executive Staff. Reporting to the Director of Operations and Executive Directors, the Senior Development Consultant will create, execute, and track a long-term development strategy to build a diverse and sustainable funding base.
Position Expectations

Sustain current fundraising goals of
~$400,000 per year
Identify, cultivate, and solicit
donors and prospects with a focus on increasing the number of
annual Major Gifts, the average size of Major Gifts, and the number
of donations above $5,000. Regularly report on progress and
results.
Create a development calendar with
short- and long-range goals to build a diverse portfolio of funding
sources.
Recommend scalable and sustainable
strategies for planned giving and individual donor management and
recognition.
Update and maintain knowledge base of
potential, current, and past donors with relevant details like
giving priorities and cultivation strategies.
Communicate with current and
potential donors to keep them engaged, updated, and actively
supporting the foundation.
Additional Responsibilities

Contribute to development-related
communications such as annual reports, newsletters, and donor
updates, as well as other external-facing marketing
collateral.
Assist with hard copy mailings of
annual reports and other marketing collateral.

Coordinate logistics around virtual
and in-person fundraising and public engagement events. Support
strategy and execution of fundraising and marketing plans, vendor
management, guest management, and in-person events.
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree Required
Strong oral and written
communications skills
5-7 years of nonprofit fund
development experience with proven track record of gift
solicitation or comparable experience in sales
Demonstrated ability to secure
individual gifts of $25,000 or more
Demonstrated strong planning skills,
including the ability to anticipate tasks, set priorities, meet
deadlines and function smoothly under strict deadlines and shifting
priorities
Must be a highly energetic
professional with a proven track record of working with diverse
audiences, building donor relationships and closing major
gifts
Proven ability to work independently
and as a self-starter
Willing to travel as needed
Position Type:
Hours and Compensation negotiable with an expected Salary Range of $70,000-$100,000 FTE (commensurate with experience). Remote - with option for Hybrid - in the NYC area or willing to travel to NYC periodically.
