Who we want:

Senior Manager, Annual Giving Call Center

The ASU Foundation, one of five nonprofit entities that make up ASU Enterprise Partners, is seeking an Senior Manager, Annual Giving Call Center who will be a key member of the ASU Foundation Annual Giving team.

This team’s mission is to deliver a comprehensive and integrated constituent engagement lifecycle experience with the goal of expanding philanthropic support and building a robust long-term pipeline through acquisition, retention, and reactivation of donors.

The senior channel manager will work collaboratively and in coordination with team members in Annual Giving and partners in the ASU Foundation, ASU Enterprise Partners. Arizona State University, and external vendors. This position will work to optimize philanthropic engagement and giving channels with a focus on peer-to-peer texting, crowdfunding, and phone-based programs. The senior channel manager will create and implement strategies to leverage multiple modes of communication to increase donor participation. The senior channel manager will also manage the student fundraiser team and report to the Director of Annual Giving and Strategic Outreach.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Manage operations for the annual giving text, crowdfunding, and phone-based platforms
  • Oversee a team of student fundraisers; including student callers and shift leads
  • Develop and implement annual plans and channel strategies
  • Manage the donor engagement outreach segment strategy; collaborate with annual giving team and unit partners to integrate channels into the broader donor journeys and corresponding engagement opportunities
  • Test segments, analyze findings, and refine strategies optimizing channel effectiveness through continuous improvement of processes and technical platforms
  • Track monthly channel statistics to ensure the team is meeting or exceeding goal
  • Oversee the donor engagement outreach training program for student fundraisers
  • Assist internal teams and external vendor partners with:
    • Exploration of new and innovative donor engagement channel opportunities
    • Coordination of research and curation of fundraising priorities and impact
    • Creation and execution of tailored post-engagement communications
 

What you’ll need:

  • Deep understanding of donor engagement technologies and strategies including, but not limited to direct to donor texting and phone-based channels
  • Collaborative style, combined with strong and collegial interpersonal skills=
  • Highly organized and able to competently handle multiple complex projects
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing assigned duties
  • Willingness to exhibit and continuously develop leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, writing and by phone
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to the ASU Foundation, its affiliates, and university business and confidential prospect information
  • Adept at navigating and managing existing and emerging technology solutions
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and evolving work environment
  • Advocate’s belief in the vision and mission of the annual giving office, ASU Foundation, and ASU Enterprise Partners
  • Position may be required to work a 10 am to 7 pm schedule Monday – Thursday and 8 am to 5 pm schedule on Friday
 

Relevant qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 4-6 years successful development, fundraising, and/or call center experience preferably in higher education, OR any equivalent combinations of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

 

Mental demands:

Clarity of focus while juggling complex projects or deadlines.

 

Working conditions:

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. May be required to perform tasks in the field within and/or across University campuses. Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions. This position may require some early mornings and evenings to accommodate meetings and events. This position currently requires you to work from the office.

 

Working equipment:

This position will require a Surface/laptop computer, desk telephone, a mobile communication device ($30 bi-weekly payroll reimbursement)
