As Associate Director, under the direction of the Senior Director of Development, you will strengthen the donor pipeline and maintain a culture of philanthropy through direct engagement with alumni and friends of UCLA Law.  You will contribute to the broader mission of External Affairs to increase the overall diversity of UCLA Law’s donors and donor prospects, while collaborating with campus partners and supporting UCLA Law’s dual mission of access and excellence.  You will personally create solicitation strategies and timetables for a portfolio of current and/or lapsed donors to increase giving and engagement. You will be responsible for the identification, cultivation and solicitation of with a specific focus on gifts ranging from $2,500 - $50,000 and up.

A persuasive communicator, you will build and sustain lasting relationships with internal and external constituents, including through phone calls and personal visits. You will work in a collaborative environment on fundraising projects and initiatives, including solicitations pertaining to giving campaigns such as Reunion and Class Gift Campaigns. You will design and implement strategies and contribute to the broader mission of External Affairs to increase the overall diversity of UCLA Law’s donors and donor prospects.

The ideal candidate will be detail oriented with the ability to take initiative, work independently and accept responsibility with two to three years of experience in a fundraising environment with an emphasis on individual giving. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to convey information with accuracy, diplomacy and tact, and persuasively express the mission of the university and the fundraising goals of the campus, especially as they relate to the UCLA School of Law. You will be adept at setting priorities and managing workflow to fulfill objectives and meet goals according to deadlines in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.
