About the Joyce Ivy Foundation

The Joyce Ivy Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization founded in 2006, is dedicated to the academic advancement and leadership development of young women from the Midwest. The Foundation seeks to broaden the college and professional aspirations of female high school students and primarily serves those from lower and middle-income households. Many of our Scholars will be the first generation in their family to attend college and identify as women of color.

The Joyce Ivy Foundation’s signature offering is its Summer Scholars scholarship program, through which the Foundation provides financial assistance for female high school students to participate in summer academic programs on the campuses of highly selective colleges and universities. 2021 partners included Harvard, Brown, Stanford, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Barnard, and Yale, among others. The Foundation also hosts free college admissions and financial aid programs, led by admission and financial aid professionals from highly selective colleges and universities. Scholars benefit from mentorship, networking, and fellowship through the growing alumnae community. To date, the Joyce Ivy Foundation has supported 900+ Summer Scholars, 95% of whom report their Joyce Ivy Foundation experience elevated their college and career aspirations.

The Foundation also gives annual women’s leadership awards to both career professionals and women who have made an early impact. The Foundation is led by the Executive Director. Volunteers include the Board of Directors, Associate Board of Directors, and a robust volunteer team of professionals and program alumnae. As a virtually operated organization, the Joyce Ivy Foundation leadership collaborates from multiple locations in the United States via teleconference and in-person meetings.
