Reporting to the Director, Brand Experience & Public Affairs, the Social Media & Content Coordinator is an early career full-time role that requires both an analytical mind and creative thinking. This is a remote position. However, the selected candidate must reside within LA or SoCal and will be expected to attend meetings as needed in LA when in-person meetings resume.

The right candidate for this opportunity should be personable, organized, perform well under multiple deadlines, be a team player, and demonstrate initiative. The primary goals for this role are partnering/supporting the Director, Brand Experience & Public Affairs on digital marketing, awareness building, communication campaigns, and administration of SAA’s WordPress website. This includes, but is not limited to:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist in driving continued growth of SAA's social media channels
  • Assist with social media content creation while ensuring it is always on-brand and maintains SAA's brand voice
  • Develop and maintain SAA’s social media calendar
  • Assisting with Social Listening + Finding Trends with our online listening tools (analytics) to identify opportunities and ideas for ongoing campaigns
  • Assisting in the coordination of our annual virtual Global Spondyloarthritis Summit and other digital events such as webinars, Facebook Lives, Twitter Chats, podcasts, and community forums
  • Assisting in coordinating our national Awareness campaigns for Spondyloarthritis Awareness Month, World AS Day, Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month, Pain Awareness Month, and others
  • Assisting with the production and publishing of marketing copy for SAA's website, blogs, email campaigns, and educational literature.
  • Assisting in designing and implementing email marketing campaigns including setting up marketing automation workflows
  • Measure and report on the performance of email campaigns
  • Assist in executing SEO strategies that increase SAA’s website search engine results rankings
  • Assisting with Influencer research and topic tracking
  • Assisting with creation of press materials such as press releases and briefing documents
  • Assisting with the development and updating of media lists
  • Assisting with the analysis of media coverage
  • Assisting with creation of an editorial calendar
  • Make content edits to SAA’s website and manage the day-to-day relationships with our Website Hosting and Website Support partners
  • Respond to, troubleshoot, and track all website issues
  • Collaborate with members of the SAA team to ensure that website content aligns with the needs of each department, supports our strategic priorities, and adheres to the highest standards
  • Conduct monthly content audits to eliminate redundant and/or duplicate information.

Required Knowledge and skills:

  • An undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in a marketing, communication, or other content role with relevant experience
  • Hands-on experience with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Hands-on experience with social media analytics
  • Knowledge of Mailchimp or a similar email marketing service platform
  • Knowledge and experience with WordPress websites are strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of best practices for SEO preferred
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Photoshop or other image editing software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of video editing software such as Adobe Premiere or equivalent is a plus
  • Motivated, goal-oriented, and persistent personality
  • High level of initiative and works well in a team environment and an ability to demonstrate strong cross-collaboration with other departments while working in a tele-remote environment
  • Sincere passion for the mission and the Spondy community SAA serves
  • Plans and carries out responsibilities with minimal direction
  • Fantastic time management skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Some travel may be required
