The Bipartisan Policy Center is a Washington, DC-based think tank that actively fosters bipartisanship by combining the best ideas from both parties to promote health, security, and opportunity for all Americans. Our policy solutions are the product of informed deliberations by former elected and appointed officials, business and labor leaders, and academics and advocates who represent both sides of the political spectrum. BPC prioritizes one thing above all else: getting things done.

BPC works to reconcile the competing aims of highly interested advocates, corporations, and policy experts and design politically viable consensus solutions. We seek out individuals and organizations that are deeply vested in the outcome of its policy projects and ask that they check absolutely nothing at the door, bringing all their passion, political perspectives, and interests to the table. BPC believes that the fundamental strength of American democracy is unity forged amid diversity, and we endeavor to represent this pluralism in all of our policy negotiations.

BPC focuses on policy solutions to strengthen our democracy, promote economic growth, opportunity and inclusion, address climate change and create better health outcomes for all Americans.

BPC is recruiting a mid-career fundraiser to join the organization’s small corporate relations team within larger Development department. Candidates can also be considered for the associate-level role that is available by indicating such in their cover letter.

The Corporate Relations Manager works in tandem with the Senior Director of Corporate Relations to execute BPC’s strategy to engage private sector partners and meet a roughly $5M annual revenue goal. The Manager will help in the stewardship, cultivation, solicitation of corporate Leaders Council members, as well as working with policy staff to craft new and exciting programmatic partnership with corporations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a frontline fundraiser for a manageable portfolio of corporate partners—identify, cultivate, and solicit gifts in collaboration with policy staff and others from the Development and Leadership Teams.
  • Work closely with Senior Director for Corporate Relations to develop annual corporate strategy to grow and diversify corporate support, and regularly track progress of corporate fundraising progress to annual goal.
  • Lead creation of corporate stewardship calendar to ensure donors and prospects are engaged and kept up-to-date on BPC’s projects (eg. private roundtables, tailored communications, expert briefings, etc.)
  • Ensure BPC’s corporate prospect pipeline is robust and growing by working with Corporate Relations Associate on necessary research, and actively seeking new networking opportunities with corporate liaisons
  • Ensure data associated with corporate donor/prospect proposal amounts, renewal dates, and primary points of contact are tracked accurately in CRM.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-4 years experience, preferably in non-profit, political, association fundraising—or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position
  • Commitment to the BPC’s mission and the ability to translate that understanding into compelling verbal and written donor communications
  • Top-notch organizational skills; ability to initiate, prioritize, and follow through
  • Knowledge and experience working with a fundraising database (eg. Microsoft Dynamics, Raisers Edge NXT, Salesforce, etc.). Adobe inDesign a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Judgement to work with and keep confidential or sensitive information
  • A positive attitude and willingness to step in where needed

BPC offers a highly competitive salary and provides generous benefits. Individuals interested in this position should send resume and cover letter as soon as possible. Please submit materials as one file. Candidates can also be considered for the associate-level role that is available by indicating such in their cover letter.
