on the on-the-ground expertise of our members and allies.
POSITION
SUMMARY
The Digital Director develops and
leads strategies to use digital tools to engage and mobilize people
to support NSC’s network building, advocacy, and fundraising goals.
The Digital Director plans, coordinates, and manages execution of
NSC’s digital efforts including email outreach, list building,
website development, and social and digital advocacy in
coordination with communications and digital staff. The Digital
Director expands the reach of NSC’s digital communications,
finds new audiences, brings more constituents to our digital
platforms, builds awareness of our key issues, and oversees metrics
and growth. The Digital Director supervises a Digital Campaign
Manager and a Social Media Manager.
DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
Work with NSC staff and partners to conceptualize and
develop vibrant, cohesive digital strategies and tactics that build
support for NSC’s policies, issues, and campaigns.
Serve as the communications liaison to assigned projects and
actively contribute to strategic campaign plans to ensure digital
and other communications goals are integrated into strategy.
Advise NSC staff and partners on effective digital strategy and
tactics that build support for passing state and federal policies
and build NSC’s list and network.
Track and understand NSC’s digital universe and lead efforts to
improve digital reach. Ensure NSC staff are aware of digital
efforts and how they can participate.
Work to innovate with a goal of bringing NSC to the cutting
edge of digital engagement in advocacy efforts across state and
federal policy.
Assist in creating donor communications and reports.
Implementation
Lead the achievement of NSC’s digital & list-building goals
across the organization in partnership with network,
communications, and other staff.
Manage the creation of strong content for digital
communications designed to engage members in campaign activities,
promote national and regional events, and grow lists.
Ensure consistent use of NSC brand and messaging in digital
communications.
Develop, manage the execution, and assess creative tactics for
list building, engaging audiences through email and social
media.
Actively contribute to the maintenance, improvement, and
functionality of NSC’s database and CRM in partnership with network
and development staff.
Contribute to the development of digital storytelling
collateral including videos.
Provide communications support for major conferences and
events.

application of organizational personnel policies.

that supports co-creation, maximizes staff talents and efforts, and

Ensure staff are effectively and consistently using
organizational systems and protocols that support transparency,
inclusion, and efficiency.
Assist in management of consultants as needed.
Effectively manage cross-staff communications projects as
assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: The
ideal candidate will have managed digital communications for an
organization and have experience creating and running digital
advocacy and engagement campaigns with a policy/legislative focus
as well as membership/audience engagement campaigns; as well as
experience managing and growing social media platforms followers
and engagement. This person will be data/metrics driven and able to
create digital campaign plans that include goals and KPIs.
Management of a small staff previously is a plus.
Education &
Experience:
Previous work experience as a Digital Director or similar
role.
Working experience with online marketing tools and web-based
technologies.
Conversant with how digital channels work and Google
Analytics.
Hands-on experience with SEO/SEM and CRM software.
Strong interpersonal, analytical and team management
skills.
Competency in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word,
and Excel
Exemplary skills in stakeholder and project management
COMPENSATION: Salary range
for this position is $100,000-$130,000; salary depends on
relevant experience and new staff rarely start at the top of the
range. Excellent benefits package, including employer-paid health
