Position Summary
Reporting to the Dean of the School of Professional Studies and serving as a member of the School’s Executive Committee, the Associate Dean is responsible for the following duties:-
Contributing to the strategic planning and
operational oversight of the School as a member of the Executive
Committee
Developing and administering a coordinated effort to
establish and strengthen relationships with targeted internal and
external School constituents
Raising private funds and developing external
sponsorships to support the priorities of the School
Overseeing effective recognition and stewardship for
all alumni, donors, and friends.
Responsibilities
Specifically, in partnership with the Dean, the Associate Dean will focus on the following core areas:-
Stakeholder Management: Cultivates and provides
leadership and oversight to the Board of Overseers; Executives in
Residence; Alumni Advisory Council; and targeted list of ‘SPS
Friends’.
Development: Fosters relationships with corporate
partners, donors, and other friends that result in financial
support and sponsorships that advance the School’s
priorities
Alumni Engagement: Cultivates an engagement and
support community for the School’s global network of alumni.
Outreach: Serves as a representative for the School
including speaking engagements, convenings, meetings, and written
communications.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree is
strongly desirable
- Eight years of related experience
Other Requirements
Demonstrated expertise is required in the following:
- Business development, fundraising, alumni affairs, and/or community affairs
- Relationship management and in cultivating/pursuing institutional and corporate relationships
- Strategy, organizational management, and leadership.
- Experience in leading and managing teams and an ability to be a high-level representative of the School. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organization and time management skills.
Ability to perform non-routine work with ever-changing priorities, have an entrepreneurial spirit, and a proven consultative and client service approach to solving business problems and addressing new opportunities.
