About the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR)

 

FAIR is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that supports secure borders and lower overall levels of immigration for the purpose of enhancing job opportunities for Americans, ensuring a sustainable environment and heightening national security.

Primary Objective: The Director of Advancement oversees the planning and execution of all components of fundraising and donor relations including digital marketing/online fundraising and content creation, grant writing, major donor relations and direct mail.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop revenue projections and monitor revenue to budget goals
  • Identify and cultivate major donors
  • Management of direct mail and online fundraising programs
  • Identify major giving prospects and create persuasive funding appeals
  • Oversee FAIR’s digital communications and marketing program
  • Work directly with the President to understand organizational messaging

Experience/Qualifications

The ideal candidate possesses:

  • Minimum 8 years of non-profit experience with a history of progressive achievement and advancement in a similar role
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • An advanced degree a plus
  • Law school-preferred
  • Immigration experience- preferred
  • Excellent research, writing, editing, proofreading and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail required
  • Strong data and analytical skills including the ability to present complex data in terms non-specialized audiences can understand

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically
  • Superior project management skills
  • Ability to travel and speak in front of groups
  • Experience with fundraising databases a plus

Salary range $130,000-$165,000 with signing bonus after 3 months.

This position is located at FAIR's headquarters in Washington, D.C. It is a full-time, exempt position. FAIR offers generous benefits; salary is commensurate with experience.
