You have an eagerness to roll up your sleeves and contribute, and a natural problem solver who is willing to seek opportunities to creatively improve internal and external systems that allow grants and funding to be tracked, communicated, and leveraged. You are also a great relationship builder who loves working with a dynamic group of people and cultivating relationships with donors and program officers. 


  • Research foundations, corporations, and individual donors who could potentially support the Urban Assembly
  • Maintain accurate revenue pipelines and dashboards
  • Support proposal and report submissions for foundation and corporate partners
  • Support development of proposals for government RFPs
  • Manage government contracting process and monitor government portals
  • Monitor proposal and report deadlines and develop and maintain internal tracking systems
  • Manage donation administration from start to finish
  • Manage donation logging and reporting in Salesforce
  • Prepare acknowledgment letters for donors
  • Assist the Chief of Staff with board relations
  • Support Director of Advancement in managing cultivation and fundraising events, including an annual gala
  • Work with Digital Communications Manager to create content for donor and community e-newsletters and e-communications

To be most effective in this role, you must be a highly effective communicator (verbal and written), both a strategic and tactical thinker and planner, and a creative  “people motivator” who inspires others to do excellent work. Additional qualifications include:

  • At least 2 years of experience in non-profit and/or education
  • Experience working with Salesforce and/or other CRMs
  • Excellent grammar and written communication skills; experience writing grant proposals and reports 
  • A proactive approach to managing complex cross-team initiatives
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Salary and Benefits

Salary range is in the mid $60s, and includes an excellent benefits package; including employer-funded healthcare, monthly MetroCard, financial support for professional development, and generous vacation time.
