JOB SUMMARY:

Clemson University's University Development Team is looking for a Director of Development to fulfill the following duties:
  • Serves as Director of Development within Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) Division and the University Development Team (UDT).
  • Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards major gifts ($25K and above) from assigned portfolio of current parent constituents.
  • Creates and implements strategic prospect plans to increase the donors and commitments within the parent philanthropy program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


JOB DUTIES:

80% - Essential - Fundraising: Manages a dynamic portfolio (up to 150) of major gift prospects/donors who have the capacity to make gifts ranging from $25,000 to $500,000. Identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards gifts from current parent constituents through 15-18 visits a month. Raises a minimum of $1,000,000 on an annual basis with subsequent years' goals determined in conjunction with the Executive Director of Development. Creates and implements strategic prospect plans to increase the overall number of donors and level of commitments within the parent philanthropy program.

10% - Essential - Stewardship and Engagement: Coordinates cultivation, stewardship and donor engagement opportunities and events related to development activities.

10% - Essential - Strategic Collaboration: Seeks opportunities to collaborate with team members across the Development and Alumni Relations Division as necessary to achieve individual and team fundraising goals.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education Bachelor's Degree

Work Experience 1-3 Years

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Work Experience 3+ Years in Fundraising and Development

RESPONSIBILITIES:

JOB KNOWLEDGE
Fundamental Job Knowledge - Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors Budget - Does not provide input but is responsible for monitoring the departmental budget and may oversee fund allocation.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Overnight Travel

WORK SCHEDULE:

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Expected Salary Range ($ 61,900.00 - $ 72,500.00)
