Position Summary

The Director of Development (DoD) in New Mexico is responsible for the oversight, planning and implementation of a comprehensive development program that secures significant financial resources from foundations, corporations, and individuals to support the conservation goals of the New Mexico Field Office (NMFO). 

 

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years related experience.
  • Experience asking for and closing major gifts.
  • Experience collaborating and working with teams.
  • Experience with written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience building and maintaining long-term relationships with fundraising constituents such as major donors, foundations, and corporations.
  • Experience in planning and delivering budgetary responsibilities.
  • Experience managing and supervising philanthropy personnel.
  • Experience, coursework, or other training in principles, practices, and procedures of charitable giving, particularly in the areas of capital campaigns, major gifts and planned giving.
  • Experience interacting positively and constructively with peers.
  • Experience applying marketing principles on projects/programs.
