We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Campaign
Director of Development, Oncology.
In this role, the successful candidate is a highly-visible and
critical role within the Office of Development & Alumni
Affairs. This position serves as a senior leader and strategic
partner responsible for overseeing and coordinating all oncology
related fundraising activities, spanning multiple clinical
departments and developing and implementing strategies to secure
funding for NYU Langone Healths work from individual donors and
prospects at the major gifts level (six and seven-figure gifts).
The Senior Campaign Director also helps to identify opportunities
for unrestricted support for NYU Langone Health.
Â· Leads the gift officers
and the development activity across all oncology related efforts
across all NYULH Hospitals, Departments and Divisions ensuring
proper coordination across a matrix environment.
Â· In partnership with
leadership, prepares and maintains a master plan of strategic
funding priorities and fundable projects, within and across
Hospitals, Departments and Divisions and works with leadership and
Communications to package them appropriately for consideration by
Â· Staffs key faculty in the
oncology area to include the Director of the Perlmutter Cancer
Â· Manages the Perlmutter
Cancer Center Advisory Board to include the identification,
recruitment and onboarding of new members and ensuring the 100%
Board participation in securing annual and campaign
Â· Works with directors,
physicians, and administrators of the assigned department and
beyond to identify, cultivate, solicit, close gifts and steward
donors and prospects with wealth capacity
Â· Manages a portfolio of
major gift and planned gift donors.
Â· Works collaboratively
with members of the Development Office Leadership and Major Gifts,
Planned Giving, Donor Experience/Events, Alumni, Stewardship and
Communications, Corporate and Foundation Relations, Direct
Response, Prospect Research and Development Administration
Â· Collaborates with other
Senior Gift Officers as well as the entire Gift Officer Team to
develop and execute strategies to secure philanthropic support from
Â· Document all development
activity related to identification,
cultivation, solicitation, and reporting/stewardship
using the Trax database.
Â· Coordinates with the
prospect research team to identify new major donor prospects from
the patient database.
Â· Works closely with
assigned board members, advisory board members, prospects, and
physicians to develop opportunities for cultivating and stewarding
major donors and identifying new prospects.
Â· Researches and writes
briefings to prepare Medical Center leaders (Dean, Vice Dean, EVP,
Department Chair, Center Director) to ensure effective meetings
with major donors.
Â· Prepares letters of
inquiry and proposals to prospects and donors on behalf of NYU
Langone Health faculty members.
Â· Manages a team including
gift officer(s) .
Â· Embraces and supports the

To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree.
15+ years of relevant experience
6 years of management experience in a cancer related field,
including demonstrated experience successfully managing a team and
creating a positive environment
Successful track record in Development and Major Gifts, including
closing 7-figure gifts and leading advisory boards
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Ability to meet deadlines and fundraising goals
Self-motivated, outgoing and results oriented
Proven leadership, management, and organizational skills as well as
experience in designing and executing comprehensive fundraising
processes and procedures
The presence, cultural sensitivity, and communication skills
necessary to be an effective representative of NYU Langone Health
and a liaison to the donor base
A collegial, collaborative, and accessible leadership style, well
suited to management in a complex academic medical center
The creativity, energy, and interpersonal skills needed to
introduce and champion new ideas and secure transformational
Knowledge of software applications, including MS Word and
Development database experience
Graduate degree preferred
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate
