The University of Colorado Boulder's Advancement team encourages applications for an Assistant Director of Human Resources! Reporting to the Director of Human Resources for Advancement, the Assistant Director will serve as an integral part of the Advancement Human Resources team. This position is expected to make high-impact contributions to Advancement by enhancing Advancement’s ability to attract, recruit and retain talent. The role will be responsible for providing support to the Director of Human Resources in the following areas: onboarding; diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI initiatives/embedding DEI practices into our everyday work); organizational culture and development; performance management; learning and development; compensation, employee engagement, data and metrics and other human resources areas that impact organizational culture.   This role requires knowledge of and experience in the human resources field and its function, and project management and execution skills. The Assistant Director will be expected to develop innovative and sustainable human resources programming and processes that align with Advancement’s strategic goals.

  • Assist the Director of Human Resources in enhancing, developing and maintaining talent management programs in the areas of recruiting, onboarding, career pathing, performance management, organizational planning, competency development, employee engagement, compensation and equity, training, and recognition programs.
  • Assist the Director of Human Resources and the Advancement leadership team in assessing current human resources programming needs and identifying improvements to processes and practices.
  • Partner with CU Boulder’s Central HR team and assist in the deployment of campus level HR initiatives, programs and standard methodologies to the division.
  • Partner with leadership and the DEIJ (diversity, equity, inclusion & justice) working group to implement and strengthen recommendations.
  • Assist the Director of Human Resources in educating, coaching, and inspiring employees throughout the organization to adopt human resources recommendations.
  • Stay up to date on human resources knowledge and trends gained through professional associations, literature readings, and meetings with industry contacts, and be willing to share new findings on a regular basis.
Project Management
  • Lead, manage and coordinate cross-functional projects in support of the division’s goals around human resources.
  • Build relationships and work cross-functionally to drive success and on-time delivery of programs.
  • Maintain program portfolios and timing of results.
  • Develop and deploy processes and tools to support human resource programs.
  • Assess program progress, report on performance, and connect with key partners.

What We Require
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in human resources, business, organization development, or comparable field. Related experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • 4 years’ experience in human resources, or comparable role.
  • Experience in compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, and/or recruiting.

What We Would Like You To Have
  • Master's Degree in human resources or related field.
  • Experience in development, fundraising, alumni relations or higher education.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certified
