The University of Colorado Boulder Advancement Marketing and
Communications team encourages applications for a Digital Marketing
and Engagement Specialist for Social Media! We are looking for
someone who is passionate about strategic data-led integrated
digital marketing and communications and working in a creative
environment where communications plans are built to support CU
Boulder’s mission. The Digital Marketing and Engagement
Specialist contributes to the planning, execution and analysis of
effective digital communications. While focused on social media
channels for the CU Boulder Alumni Association, this work also
happens across a variety of platforms including email, event
registration and website. This role is highly collaborative,
not only with other members of the Digital Marketing and Engagement
(DME) team, but also with the Strategy and Alignment, Creative
Communications and Storytelling teams within the larger Advancement
Marketing and Communications team structure.

- Plan and implement social media content across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and other platforms
- Manage social media communities – monitoring, listening and responding appropriately
- Partner with other campus social media managers to share strategies and collaborate on campus-wide projects
- Analyze social media analytics to understand what works and where improvements can be made, then act on those findings
- Stay on top of trends and other social media tools, and adapt quickly to stay relevant
- Build and implement email marketing campaigns using tools like Litmus, Marketing Cloud and Salesforce when needed
- Complete website updates through CU Boulder’s Web Express platform when needed
- Take part in planning meetings to understand and develop messaging, identify target audiences and develop integrated marketing campaigns
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 1 year of experience coordinating content and managing social media channels.
- Experience using Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn and TikTok.
- Experience with Sprout, Later, Hootsuite or similar tools for social media content management/scheduling.
- Ability to analyze data and synthesize findings.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Demonstrated ability to optimally balance multiple projects in a fast paced work environment.
- Meticulous with details.
- Knowledge of social media and community management best practices, plus how to complete paid social media campaigns.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Positive demeanor with excellent customer service skills.
- CU Boulder graduate and/or experience working on CU Boulder campus or in higher education.
- Familiarity and understanding of email marketing platforms such as Marketing Cloud, Litmus, Constant Contact or other similar tools.
- Understanding of Drupal or other content management platforms.
- Knowledge of HTML coding.
- Familiarity with AP Style.
