Headquartered in Elmsford, NY, Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic (PPHP) provides reproductive health care services at 10 health centers and two mobile health clinics in Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, and Putnam counties. For 88 years, the organization has provided a wide range of sexual and reproductive health care services, accurate information and education, and fearless advocacy for reproductive rights and justice. PPHP prides itself on providing a wide range of health care services to a diverse population of patients and, in 2020, the organization provided services to 31,000 patients, diverse in their age, race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, immigration status, and ability to pay.

 

PPHP seeks a mission-driven and passionate fundraising leader to serve as Chief Development Officer (CDO). In partnership with President and CEO, Vince Russell, the CDO will design and lead overall strategic direction, execution, and management of fundraising and marketing strategies. The successful candidate will increase awareness of, and philanthropic support for, PPHP’s critical mission. S/he will lead a comprehensive advancement team with overall responsibility for leadership and major gifts, corporate and foundation relations, planned giving, annual giving, events, events, e-philanthropy, operations, research, and communications. In addition, the CDO will oversee coordination, creative efforts, and marketing for PPHP’s four special events, including the Empower Gala in Westchester County, East End Benefit in the Hamptons, and the Summer and Spring Benefits in Suffolk County.

 

In partnership with PPHP’s Regional Directors for Philanthropy, the ideal CDO will create and lead a plan for leveraging philanthropic dollars for capital improvements, program advancement, general operations, and advocacy in an environment where the prospective donor constituency in not immediately obvious. To support PPHP’s mission and patients, s/he will maintain a personal portfolio of top donors and prospects with focus on the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of principal-level gifts in Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, and Putnam counties. The CDO will manage a comprehensive government and foundation grants program and oversee the preparation and reporting requirements for PPHP’s State of New York Family Planning Grant.

 

The successful candidate will partner with the Associate Vice President of Governmental Affairs and Advocacy on fundraising efforts for PPHP’s Action Fund, a separate 501(c)4 organization which serves as PPHP’s social welfare and advocacy arm. S/he will foster a culture of philanthropy across PPHP’s Board of Directors, Senior Management Team, frontline patient services, and outreach team members.

 

The CDO will report to the President and CEO, lead the Development, Communications & Marketing staff of six, and serve on the Senior Management Team. As a member affiliate in the Planned Parenthood Collaborative Fundraising Program (CFP), the CDO will partner with the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) Development team to create collaborative strategies for the solicitation and stewardship of PPFA donors with mutual interest in PPHP.
