Fordham University School of Law (Fordham Law) is one of Fordham University’s professional graduate schools. In the 2022 edition of U.S. News & World Report, released March 2021, Fordham Law ranked No. 35 among the 198 U.S. law schools included, and the Law School’s evening program as the No. 3 best in the United States. Fordham Law’s programs are ranked among the top 25 in the country: Trial Advocacy (No. 8), Dispute Resolution (No. 17), International Law (No. 18), and Clinical Training (No. 19). National Law Journal ranked Fordham Law No. 17 in its “Go-To Law School” ranking, which is determined by the percentage of graduates that find associate jobs in the largest 100 law firms.

With a dedicated facility at Fordham’s Lincoln Center campus, Fordham Law is one of eight American Bar Association-approved law schools in New York City. Fordham Law is at a pivotal and exciting moment in its history. In addition to enhancing its reputation as a nationally-acclaimed, go-to law school for all practices, Fordham Law is expanding to provide students with a world-class education that prepares them for emerging and alternative careers in law, including technology law, compliance, and the usage of artificial intelligence.

To help fulfill its institutional vision, Fordham Law seeks a Major Gifts Officer who will increase participation in annual and major giving. S/he will carry a portfolio of 120 to 150 major gift prospects including alumni, parents, and friends of Fordham University School of Law. The successful candidate will partner with faculty, senior administrators, and volunteers to secure major gift commitments at the five, six, and seven figure ranges. These gifts provide important support for financial aid, new academic initiatives, facilities, ongoing expenses, and support of the Feerick Center for Social Justice.

The Major Gifts Officer will report to the Senior Executive Director of Development and Campaigns for the School of Law. S/he will partner with the School of Law’s development staff, research staff in the University’s Office of Development and Alumni Relations, Fordham Law Alumni Association staff, and Fordham staff across campus.
