RWJUH is seeking a Development Manager for our Foundations Department at the New Brunswick campus. This is a full-time, day position (40hours/week).

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Support, plan and implement strategies to grow fundraising efforts, primarily to grow unrestricted and capital support by engaging prospects at the $5,000 to $25,000 giving levels in support of RWJ University Hospital. Other duties as assigned.
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors $5,000 to $25,000. Plan and executive strategies to raise donors giving levels expand the major gift pipeline to RWJUH in a small portfolio made up of individuals, organizations and foundations.
  • Assist with proposal writing, cases for support, presentations and stewardship reporting for all donors including new sources of support and donor recognition societies in collaboration with entire major gift team.
  • Assist with devising tailored engagement opportunities to advance prospects understanding of the needs and priorities of the hospital to enhance their inclination for philanthropic support.
  • In partnership with the Director of Major Gifts, assist in building a more robust and systematic grateful patient major gift program including pursing leads on new prospects and research identifications through email, phone, virtual and patient rounding.
  • Serve as a liaison with assigned departments and physicians to increase prospect identification and physician engagement including coordination with staff of Physician Giving Campaign.
  • As a member of the Foundation team, participate in planning and implementation of overarching fundraising strategies; attend and staff events when necessary and/or appropriate.
  • Be familiar with and articulate about the institution including its mission, culture, programs, and fundraising objectives. Develop relationships with key nurses and administrators responsible for the areas of strategic need at the Hospital.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree Required
  • Excellent writing, communication and relationship-building skills required
  • At least three years of fundraising experience preferred
  • Raiser s Edge experience preferred
