KEES has been exclusively retained by a Foundation, who wishes to remain anonymous, in its search for a Program Director.

In operation for over 30 years, the Foundation has granted over $40 million in the past three years and has plans to expand its total annual funding and geographic reach in the coming five years. It supports international organizations with missions primarily focused on lifting communities out of poverty through funding of community development, education, agriculture, health and WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) projects.

In support of this anticipated expansion, the Foundation has created a new Program Director role. Using their strong business acumen and leveraging their prior experience working with similar organizations, the Program Director will identify projects and programs aligned with the mission and values of the Foundation and will shepherd the full life cycle of grantee involvement, from identification, engagement, proposal, funding, project review, and renewal or advancement.  Reporting to the Senior Program Director, the Program Director will work closely with administrative staff, professional advisors, and Trustees, and will serve as a face and voice of the Foundation, sharing in the building of outcomes with grantee partners.

This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who wants to bring proven grantmaking expertise, support, and advance global efforts to create common good, advance human dignity serving those with the least, and work as part of a nimble team that empowers individuals and communities. The ideal candidate has the values and heart to serve the poorest of the poor and reflect Catholic social teaching.

Some specific requirements include:

  • Passion to serve the poorest of the poor to help lift them out of poverty with a strong alignment of personal principles to Catholic social values, whether through direct faith expression or general philosophy to charitable work.
  • A preferred minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in managing an international impact-oriented program portfolio (grant making, impact investment, venture philanthropy, NGO, corporate foundation, etc.).
  • Track record showing stability with an organization and capacity to develop and nurture relationships culminating in overall success.
  • Track record of increasing responsibilities in a nonprofit, NGO or Foundation.
  • Strong analytic and strategic-thinking skills, with demonstrated ability to create, implement and monitor complex plans, and translate those plans into goals and concrete strategies.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally, approximately 20% of the time.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA degree preferred.
  • Fluent command (written and spoken) of English is required, and bilingual in any language a plus.

This position offers a competitive salary with strong benefits. This is a virtual position and office setup will be provided. Candidate must live near a US international airport.

The Foundation is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, disability, marital status, veteran status, or any other occupationally irrelevant criteria.

In this search, KEES will represent the Foundation until the point of live interviews with the top candidates and the Foundation leadership. Candidates must be comfortable with anonymity up until a point in the process when they are a finalist under consideration.
