Analyst Institute is looking to fill the position of Operations & Development Associate. This position will support both the Operations and Development teams in providing critical capacity around our human resources, administrative, and fundraising work. 

Note: We’re looking to fill this role by the beginning of next year, with a start date in early February 2022. We will accept applications through January 7, 2022, with preference given to candidates who apply by the end of the year. We will review applications on a rolling basis. 


Development (50% of portfolio)

The mission of the Development team is to ensure that Analyst Institute’s projects, priorities, and initiatives are well-resourced through grants, contributions, and contracts from external funders. As the Operations & Development Associate, you will:

    Conduct prospect research to expand the universe of Analyst Institute’s donor pool Support the writing of grant reports for institutional donors Draft informal updates to active and prospective donors  Ensure that cross-team coordination accurately informs funder outreach, proposals, and other solicitations Assist with fundraising projections and internal budgeting Assist in coordination of relationships with fiscal sponsors


Operations (50% of portfolio)
The mission of the Operations team is to make Analyst Institute run like a well-oiled machine, ensuring the organization operates smoothly and staff are supported. The Operations & Development Associate will:

    Support the hiring, onboarding, and offboarding processes Own and/or support some of Analyst Institute’s equity and inclusion initiatives Help cultivate a collaborative, inclusive, and productive work environment Manage the D.C. office, including purchasing office supplies, receiving mail, and being the building point of contact Provide day-to-day administrative support, including scheduling, managing and updating systems, and helping us stay compliant with state and federal laws Provide event and project support Provide basic tech support, including uploading items to our website

As an Operations & Development Associate, you should be someone who has:

    Campaign- or nonprofit-related communications and/or fundraising work Any work on political campaigns




  • Location: This position is based out of our Washington, D.C. office, near McPherson Square. Due to COVID-19, we are mostly remote with an option to work in the office for those who are fully vaccinated. We prefer this position to visit the office at least once a week to start and more often once we’re officially back in the office.
  • Reporting: This will be a split position that will report to both the Development Director and the Director of Operations.


    Start date: We are looking for this position to start early February 2022. This is a full-time, exempt position. Compensation range: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, from $50,000 to $60,000 Benefits: These include 100% premium-covered health, dental, and vision care, generous paid time off, including 12 weeks of paid parental leave, 401k matching, and professional development stipends for self-directed growth.
