We currently have a Full-Time Planned Giving Officer position open in Vancouver WA and would really value the opportunity to learn more about you and how we can help provide you with meaningful professional purpose.

PeaceHealth is seeking a Planned Giving Officer for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position.

Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including 2 doses of a 2-dose series or 1 dose of a 1-dose series plus 14 days beyond the final dose prior to start date.

 

The Planned Giving Officer (PGO) is responsible for qualifying, cultivating, stewarding, and soliciting a specific group of donors and prospects in their effort to maintain a planned giving donor caseload focused on attracting both planned and blended gifts. Builds strong relationships with planned giving donors and prospects and actively develops a planned giving pipeline of larger gift opportunities. Works to develop leads generated from planned giving marketing into planned and blended gift proposals. May work individually and in partnership with fundraisers across the System to implement and coordinate activities related to qualification, cultivation and solicitation of planned gift generation and gift closure. Responsible for engaging donors in philanthropic planning conversations that consider their charitable goals, family needs, assets, tax considerations, and optimal planned gift instruments, and encouraging and assisting them with making planned and complex outright gifts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

Engages in face-to-face contacts with identified, qualified potential and existing planned gift donors. Provides documentation of activities as part of a management program recorded in Raisers Edge.
Engages fundraisers across the networks in development strategies for solicitation of identified prospects.
Partners with donors’ advisers to provide donors with legal and tax information regarding bequests and life income gifts.
Works with PeaceHealth’s legal department to draft and review gift illustrations and legal documents. Produces gift illustrations for charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trust proposals.
Actively researches past history and foundation relationship with donors to deepen ongoing relationship,
Develops and executes written cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans, utilizing a moves management approach to engage prospects and donors.
Ensures that all planned giving activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing non-profit business operations
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in business, fundraising or related required. Juris Doctor or MBA preferred
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

 

Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in planned giving or in a related field, such as estate planning, ideally in a mission driven healthcare environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of estate planning, including wills, trusts and planned giving vehicles.
A proven track record of fundraising success
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

Certified as a Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) preferred
