Marketing Assistant

Spirit of America seeks a Marketing Assistant to directly support the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) as well as the needs of the entire marketing, communications, and development team (MCD).  A strong candidate will have an understanding of marketing, administrative assistant experience, and strong interpersonal skills to work across all functions of the organization. The ideal candidate will also share a deep commitment to the safety and success of America’s troops and diplomats. The Marketing Assistant reports to Spirit of America's Chief Marketing Officer. In order to work for Spirit of America, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Project tracking and management – Oversees the management of Smartsheet or other project management tools to ensure that project deadlines are being met and reported in a clear and concise manager.
  • Team communications – Responsible for scheduling MCD team meetings and providing necessary pre-reads and materials.
  • Organization communication – Communicates directly with other department members to ensure that MCD deliverables are being met in timely fashion and that overall communication with other departments is proactive and seamless.
  • CMO support – Directly supports the calendar management and administrative tasks associated with the CMO’s office and their responsibilities.
  • Marketing and Communications projects – Will directly support several projects as marketing assistant, with duties including, written communication, phone calls, internal presentation of updates, and status reports and project management.
  • Misc. organization support – Will be available to support general organizational needs connected in any way with marketing and communications, including team functions, webinars, in-person events, and premium mailings.

 

Requirements

  • 2-4 years’ experience in an organization producing marketing and communications materials, ideally in direct support of that function.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience working as an administrative assistant to an executive is preferred
  • Project management experience and an aptitude for working with online project management software.
  • Experience handling a variety of information requests and following up with reporting, write-ups or read-outs on findings and recommendations, including, for example, competitive analyses and potential vendor sourcing.
  • Experience with creative software a plus, for example, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop.
  • Experience with analytics tools also a plus, for example, Google Analytics, Facebook, and other tracking sources for measuring performance.
  • A passion for marketing and communications and a real hunger for learning tools and techniques which can help someone grow into a marketing management position in a mission-driven organization.

Salary and benefits
Spirit of America offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. ($40-$55K BOE)
