Manager of Donor Relations


Job Description:

The Manager of Donor Relations is responsible for assisting with the development, implementation, and management of donor relations. Reporting to the Director of Institutional and Major Gifts Stewardship, the Manager works closely with Advancement staff, the President's Office, administrators, and faculty to achieve donor cultivation and stewardship objectives for the College.

Essential Duties Summary
Specific Duties:

• Prepares and maintains correspondence and mailings
• Maintains and organizes department files
• Coordinates and tracks department budget requests and accounting
• Responsible for the gift acknowledgment process for major gifts, including the drafting of personalized letters
• Responsible for presidential acknowledgments, supporting the President's Office with ongoing donor information to assist with the acknowledgment process.
• Collaborates with the Dean of Students and Financial Aid Offices on scholarship reporting and on the naming of students for endowed scholarships.
• Prepares and distributes annual reports to donors who have given to endowed and sponsored undergraduate and graduate scholarship, program, and other funds.
• Maintains donor records in Raiser's Edge database
• Generates reports from Raiser's Edge database
• Tracks event RSVP's and attendance for events
• Interacts with high-level donors, prospects, and other SLC constituencies
• Researches donor or fund histories
• Creates name tags, guest lists, and other materials to be used for events
• Staff's events on or off-campus, occasionally in the evening or on weekends
• Assists Director of Institutional and Major Gifts Stewardship with projects as needed


Required Qualifications
Experience and Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Demonstrated writing and editing skills.
• Events management expertise.
• Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work in a high-volume, deadline-oriented environment.
• Must be able to manage multiple projects, take initiative, and think creatively.
• Ability to work independently.
• Familiarity with higher education fundraising.
• A commitment to high performance and teamwork.
• Excellent computer skills—Word, Excel, Publisher
• Experience with Raiser's Edge
