Job Posting Summary

Royal Palm Players entertain, educate and engage Boca Grande and the surrounding communities with outstanding live theater and drama education in order to create a deeper sense of community, provide grist for thoughtful discussion and enrich the quality of life. We offer quality live entertainment and provides opportunities to volunteers for acting, singing, dancing, directing, writing, producing, stage managing, set design, and construction, administration and publicity.

The Managing Director of the Royal Palm Players will report to the RPP Board of Directors through the President of the Board and oversee/direct the work of a Box Office/Administrative Assistant and the Technical Co-Ordinator. The Managing Director will have some experience in and passion for the theater arts, a capacity for strong collaborative leadership, and the ability to oversee the financial and operational dimensions of RPP’s programs in pursuit of its mission to “Entertain, Educate and Engage the Boca Grande Community and Beyond”.

Location of position: Your office will be in Boca Grande.

Please note this is a full-time position, and non-local candidates will be expected to relocate.

A Bachelor’s degree in business, non-profit administration, or equivalent work.

5-7 years of experience in a non-profit organization. Arts or theatrical organizations preferred.

Proven leadership and management ability in a complex environment.

Must possess excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.

Will have a solid knowledge of marketing, accounting, budgeting, programming and fiscal management.

Has successfully written grants, cultivated new donors and sponsors, created fundraising events and participated in other fundraising activities.

Will have demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively in fast paced environments with a wide range of stake holders.

 Flexibility and the ability to work independently are key attributes, as is being willing to roll up their sleeves as needed.

Analytical and technical skills including familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, QuickBooks on-line, basic design programs and virtual programming.

Flexible to work evenings and weekends, as needed, in support of membership, community outreach, performances, and donor events.
