Director of Content and Production

We are currently seeking a Director of Content & Production that will lead our content strategy. Additionally, the individual in this role will produce and work with outside vendors to produce high-quality content that are in alignment with our organization’s key areas of work and supportive of our mission and goals. The Director also manages our content and production teams.

As primary responsibilities, the Director will:

  • Manage, coach and lead the content and production team of whose primary responsibility is to help drive awareness of our organization and the work we do through a variety of channels and mediums. Provide direction, guidance and support to direct reports aligned with both the goals and objectives of the organization and the growth and development goals of the direct reports.
  • Demonstrate initiative in identifying potential new production capabilities to support operational/value expansion and proactively share these capabilities with Fellowship colleagues and leadership. Manage our production process and make improvements and changes where needed to optimize our content and overall efficiencies.
  • Work leadership and their respective teams to ensure all content needs are met and that the content created is on brand and in support of our high-level organizational goals. Cultivate relationships with key brand stakeholders to forecast anticipated content needs.
  • Leverage monitoring and evaluation metrics to communicate overall progress of our content strategy and production. Work with our content team and global colleagues to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Manage multiple outsourced partners, editors and production vendors, ensuring quality management and delivery of high-quality production work.

The ideal candidate will have the following experiences and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with a non-profit organization, marketing agency, or non-profit agency, including leadership roles
  • Experience leading delivery teams, including vendor management, planning, budgeting and forecasting
  • Filming and editing experience, ensuring availability of content that can be used at a global level. Animation skills (highly desired)
  • Digital & Omnichannel background
  • Ability to develop content for specific channels and audiences (multi-media)
  • Knowledge of Merlin and other content storing platforms
  • Production and editing capabilities a must
  • Advanced knowledge of video and audio editing programs/software (e x: FinalCut Pro , A dobe Premier, etc.)
  • Graphic design knowledge and experience a plus
  • Previous and demonstrated experience creating a content strategy
  • Broad understanding of field
  • Ability to manage teams and drive change
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and writing/communication skills
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with senior leadership teams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and produce results in a matrix environment
  • Ability to take a hands-on approach to assist the team with creating quality videos and content.
  • Storyteller with the ability to create compelling content that will meet KPIs
  • Excellent attention to detail; strong time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office Suite (365)
