Garrison Forest School is seeking a dynamic and experienced
fundraising professional to build on the school’s strong history of
philanthropy. In partnership with the Associate Head of School and
the Director of Philanthropy, the Director of Gift Planning will
design and implement strategies for the identification,
cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major capital, annual
fund and planned giving high-capacity prospects. They will manage a
pool of 75+ prospects capable of giving $100,000 or more. The
Director will lead and market the school’s planned giving program,
with the expectation of enrolling a minimum of 10 new members
annually to the school’s planned giving society.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years fundraising experience, ideally in an independent
school or university setting.
- Demonstrated success soliciting and closing major gifts of six
figures and above.
- Expertise in planned giving including extensive knowledge of
the tax and financial benefits related to philanthropy, deferred
giving, and financial planning.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work
independently and as part of a team.
- Strong computer skills and experience with a database. Raiser’s
Edge experience preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel and work outside normal
working hours, as needed.
Garrison Forest School, located in Baltimore County, Maryland,
