Responsibilities

The Assistant Director for Digital & Social Giving will oversee, implement, evaluate, and manage both innovative and existing strategies that use digital and social platforms to promote and increase annual gifts and donor participation to support academic programs and campaigns.

FSU’s Great Give

Manage and coordinate all aspects of FSU’s Great Give. Facilitate open, timely and productive communication with the university community to ensure inclusivity in the campaign. Organize and lead meetings, and track responsibilities with all stakeholders. Provide a strategic plan for year-over-year campaign goal increase. Personally solicit and work with the fundraising teams to identify incentive and matching awards to increase participation in the campaign. Post campaign, provide leadership with a SWOT analysis. Leverage vendor program to increase performance and participation.

Giving Tuesday

Create and implement a university-wide campaign. Provide a plan that is heavily promoted on social platforms. Leverage vendor programs to increase performance and participation. Facilitate and lead all meetings, track responsibilities with all stakeholders. Evaluate post campaign results to determine how to grow success year after year.

Targeted Digital Segmentations and Social Giving for Affinity Campaigns

Utilize predictive modeling, social media mining, and other digital analytics and tools to target annual giving audiences with right messages, via the right vehicles, at the right time, to increase the effectiveness of solicitations. Create compelling solicitation strategies that move prospective and current donors through a donor journey that results in increased giving. Tailor messaging, design elements, and animation (i.e. video, GIFs, etc.) to audience segments to yield greater engagement.

SPARK Liaison

Manage the university-wide liaison program for SPARK (FSU’s crowd-funding platform) effectiveness. This includes serving as the primary point of contract when there are questions related to crowd-funding. Work in conjunction with Foundation staff to ensure the platform stays current, user-friendly, and effective. Create and manage a plan to better utilize SPARK campus-wide to increase donor participation.

Department Support

Work in conjunction with the Associate Director to ensure that timely digital and social giving campaigns are enhancing the traditional channels of giving (i.e. Phone, Direct Mail, Email, etc.).

Engagement Center Solicitation Strategies Manager

Manage all analytics for various segments to ensure donor count and dollars remain within goal range. Oversee the phone center vendor relationship, FTP site and daily reports and notify the directors of Annual Giving, Information Systems, and Gift Processing when issues arise with the reports. Oversee the Phone Center next day pledge reminder program and collateral pieces. Strategize and coordinate all text, email and digital ad campaigns to support various initiatives.

Program Planning

Assist in the development and implementation of the Annual Giving integrated marketing communications plan. Assist in the coordination of the Annual Giving solicitation calendar to meet the department goals. Serve as liaison with Constituent Development Officers and communications staff within the colleges and units. Develop strategies for Foundation Board of Trustee involvement in Annual Giving initiatives.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and four years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to eight years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.).

Commitment to best practices of equity, diversity and inclusion.

Minimum of two years of fundraising, marketing, donor relations, event planning, research and/or reporting experience at a university or other non-profit organization.

Familiarity with social platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram.

Experience in the use of social media, developing content for the Web, and online giving.

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office products suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), or equivalent software.

A self-starter, comfortable working independently.

Ability to maintain effective, consistent and constructive communication with Director of Annual Giving.

Excellent communication skills to include effective and persuasive writing and editing skills, professional public speaking and presentation skills, and interpersonal relationship-building skills.

Ability to facilitate strong communications and working relationships with colleagues, deans, donors, prospective donors, and alumni; including letters, reports, data analysis, surveys, workgroup participation, committees, and telephone communications.

Must be a creative thinker and recognize of the impact of meaningful stewardship.

Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously and accurately in a detail-oriented environment.

Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Preferred

Advanced degree preferred

Experience with management of students or volunteers.

Experience with Black Baud’s CRM Platform or other fundraising information management systems/databases.

Experience in project management, budget tracking and coordinating efforts between multiple stakeholder groups.

Experience in event planning, planning, and leading meetings, preparing presentations and reports for meetings.

Demonstrated, progressive experience in seeking financial support for programs or initiatives.
