BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for all aspects involved in the research and writing of grants and providing assistance to the Development Department as directed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Researches new grants/foundations and government grants for BTS and the Elaine Breslow Institute
- Assembles and writes Letters of Intents (LOIs), interim and final reports
- Ensures proper evaluation methods are in place within each department and works with department heads to maintain effective data-collection procedures
- Maintains Development department logs of activities and projects
- Helps coordinate the development of all marketing materials used for grants and ensures foundation recognition when/where required
- Participates in cultivation and stewardship activities, including donor visits, dinners and other events
- Communicates with community members, employees, donors and Temple members
- Backup for Raiser’s Edge
- All other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Previous experience – and success – with writing grants and assembling applications for both private foundations and government entities
- Previous experience with administrative work
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail
- Good follow-through and completion of tasks and projects
- Ability to multi-task under pressure
