The Aspen Leadership Group is proud to partner with Pomona
College in the search for a Senior Director of Advancement
Services.
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Advancement Operations,
the Senior Director of Advancement Services will lead the overall
direction of the Advancement Services team in data services, gift
services, and advancement technology to support division-wide
goals, infrastructure, and shared services. As a member of the
Advancement Operations team, the Senior Director will support
collaborative efforts to plan, design, build, and continuously
improve the College’s advancement systems, technology, and
processes required to conduct successful overall advancement
operations. The Senior Director will lead Advancement Services
staff, manage Advancement division systems, and provide
administrative oversight for constituent data and gift record
services for various Advancement stakeholders. The Senior Director
will build a high-performing team that creates user-friendly and
scalable data and technology-based solutions to enhance the
College’s Advancement strategic operations with a focus on impact,
efficiency, and service excellence.
Established in 1887, Pomona College is a private liberal arts

Pomona College seeks a Senior Director of Advancement Services with
a commitment to the mission of Pomona College and an appreciation
of the College's liberal arts environment; the knowledge, skills,
and abilities to successfully perform the functions of the
position; effectiveness and clarity of verbal and written
communication with the exceptional interpersonal communication and
leadership skills needed to supervise, facilitate, motivate, and
inspire a diverse group of employees, volunteers, and stakeholders
from a wide variety of backgrounds; an ability to handle all
activities and highly confidential information with patience,
discretion, tact, and keen attention to detail; proficiency in
operating computers with Microsoft Office software, associated
professional software (such as Cognos, SQL, Jenzabar CX, Raiser’s
Edge, Tableau, menu-driven databases) and social media tools; an
understanding of the use of technology in assessing and
continuously improving Advancement division systems and processes
to achieve annual goals and maintain confidentiality; proficiency
in generating database queries, reports, and lists using knowledge
of Query, Export, and Mail functions; an ability to handle multiple
tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as a
collaborative executive member of the College in support of the
College’s strategic vision and the division’s annual goals, with a
high standard of integrity and ethics; superior analytical,
organizational, management, and project management skills, and an
ability to complete work with accuracy and attention to detail; and
active participation on a management team (preferred). A bachelor's
degree is required for this position as is at least ten years of
leadership and team-building experience with increasing
responsibility in the areas of advancement services and database
management at a major academic or nonprofit institution. All
