The Donor Services Salesforce Administrator is an integral member of a growing Donor Services team within the Development Division of NPR. This position is responsible for maintaining NPR’s prospect and donor profiles, gift processing, and financial data within the fundraising database. The Donor Services Salesforce Administrator also works collaboratively with the Finance and Information Technology Salesforce Enterprise team to ensure the Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) instance is seamlessly integrated with NPR’s enterprise system. Working directly with Development colleagues, the Donor Services Salesforce Administrator provides guidance and training as needed, makes updates to processes, procedures, and reporting as needed, and supports regular auditing to ensure data integrity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate the evaluation, scope, and completion of new Salesforce configuration/development requests for the Development team
  • Document appropriate Development team Salesforce usage, processes, and workflows
  • Execute routine queries and reports; help identify and address operational challenges; and participate in short-term projects to help enhance system usage
  • Create exports and customized reports
  • Participate as a member of a cross-divisional community of practice of Salesforce resources within NPR
  • Train new and existing staff members in Salesforce
  • Maintain prospect and donor database records, with primary focus on biographical and demographic information, including:
    • Cataloging and entry of all available intelligence
    • Ensure consistency and accuracy of the ongoing data entry
    • Consult with Development team, answering questions and directing them through the appropriate data entry procedures as needed
  • Work collaboratively with the Donor Services team on research requests and pipeline building projects, including:
    • Confirm prospect and donor contact information
    • Use research resources to ascertain biographical and financial information, including inclination and capacity rating
    • Ensure new data is captured and recorded in a timely manner for distribution to fundraisers
  • Perform regular data integrity auditing and analysis, making recommendations for and undertaking data clean-up projects as appropriate
  • Act as liaison with Budget Director to reconcile gifts to NPR, pass-through gifts to stations, soft-credit information, and ensure accuracy of funds

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • 3-5 years of experience in managing a relationship database
  • 3+ years of Salesforce administration including experience with Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP)
  • Salesforce Administrator certification
  • Experience with connected apps in Salesforce
  • Excellent time management skills and computer proficiency
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Aptitude for the management and effective use of information systems
  • Must possess knowledge of fundraising principles and practices
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills
  • Sound judgment relating to confidential projects, donor and/or prospect matters, including effective communication regarding such matters to the appropriate individuals

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience in large, federated nonprofit
  • Experience with Salesforce Accounting Subledger
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud
