JOB SUMMARY:
Clemson University is looking for a Director of Development & Unit Lead - CAFLS to fulfill the following duties:
JOB DUTIES:
50% - Essential - Philanthropic Major Gift: Qualifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards gifts from College/Unit donors, alumni, and friends through 180-200 visits annually. Raises a minimum of $750,000 on an annual basis with subsequent years' goals determined in conjunction with the Executive Director. Coordinates cultivation, stewardship and donor engagement opportunities/events for assigned donors and the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences and supporting units/programs.
30% - Essential - College: Leads efforts for the unit for the upcoming capital campaign by collaborating with College and supporting unit/program leadership to develop philanthropic strategy that advances the key priorities for the campaign and the College's mission. Engages actively with the Dean and college/unit leaders in the cultivation and stewardship efforts of top donors and prospects. Serves as the primary liaison and mission critical link between the Advancement division and the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences and its supporting units/programs.
15% - Essential - Strategic Collaboration and Facilitation: Utilizes relationships with the Dean and other key leaders to advance the philanthropic strategies and priorities of the College and exceed the annual fundraising goals. Facilitates collaboration with team members across the Advancement division who are essential to the College's fundraising efforts. Participates in the University Development Team's Unit Lead cohort.
5% - Essential - Team Management: Directly supervises a team of development officers and internal support team members. Coaches and mentors them to achieve their fundraising and performance goals/objectives. Leads comprehensive annual planning and performance review procedures with team members.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors Budget - Does not provide input but is responsible for monitoring the departmental budget and may oversee fund allocation.

- Serves as Director of Development and Unit Lead within the Advancement Division and the College of Agriculture, Forestry & Life Sciences which includes Public Service & Agriculture and other supporting units/programs.
- Provides strategy, leadership, direction, coordination and management of all levels of giving for all units/programs within the College.
- Develops priorities and philanthropic strategy in collaboration with critical Unit Administrators and the Executive Director, implements strategic plans, and inspires stakeholders to support these priorities to fulfill the College's mission and support their ability to implement programs and initiatives.
