The Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism is seeking a Major Gift Officer who will focus on identifying, cultivating and soliciting alumni, parents, foundations and friends of Columbia with the capacity to make gifts in the $100,000 to $3,000,000 range. Reporting to the Associate Dean, Alumni and Development, the Major Gift Officer is responsible for a portfolio of up to 150 individuals and foundations. Serving as a key member of a dynamic fundraising team, the Major Gift Officer is responsible for moving gift prospects through the complete giving cycle—validation, engagement, cultivation, solicitation, gift/grant negotiation and stewardship—and for identifying priorities for fundraising focus. 

A bachelor's degree is required. The candidate should also have a minimum of 4–6 years of fundraising or related experience.
