 Development Coordinator

 Location: Remote  (preference for New York, NY; Denver, CO; and Miami, FL) 

Reports to: Director of Strategic Partnerships

Area: Development, Special Initiatives, Membership

Position Type: 100% FTE

 Organization Overview

Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIP) is a 501c3 non-profit organization working with a transnational network of grantmakers committed to strengthening Latinx communities across the Americas. HIP connects and convenes funders, nonprofits, researchers, and other leaders to identify emerging needs among Latinx as well as best practices for responsive and effective funding of social change. HIP pioneers new philanthropic models by leading collaborative initiatives and has provided grants and training to help build the capacity of more than 800 organizations and leaders.

 Position Summary

The Development Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Strategic Partnerships to meet the development and membership goals of HIP. The Development Coordinator will be a keystone member of the team, with a concentration in supporting our Organizational Giving and Individual Giving programs, special events and initiatives, Membership program and donor stewardship activities. This position will also be responsible for effective and efficient use of resources and the donor management system, Salesforce, to measure and achieve development goals. 

 Core Responsibilities

    Coordinate all components of the grants submission and reporting pipeline;  Data management in Salesforce including input of current and prospective grant opportunities and documentation, including LOIs, GALs/reporting templates, concept notes, meeting notes, reports and final report submissions, etc, and membership dues and accounts;  Coordinate grant and reporting preparation meetings with Programs and provide note taking support and follow up tasks;  Draft and submit grant acknowledgements and/or stewardship communications and work in conjunction with the Finance team to keep track of incoming revenue in Salesforce;  Responsible for submitting reports and proposals to funders;  Coordinate the development team’s communications with existing funders and potential new funders; Prepare reports for the Development Department as well as periodic development reports for the Board of Directors; Assist with logistics for fundraising and membership events (e.g. receptions, panel discussions, funders’ briefings, and social events); Support membership outreach, engagement, and stewardship;  General administrative support for the Development team;

 Qualifications

    Interest in HIP's mission, Latinx issues, and philanthropy; Experience in fundraising, special events, or donor communication preferred; Database management experience, specifically with Salesforce, preferred;  Strong project management and process development skills;  Excellent writing and editing skills with ability to draft communications to funders, partners and members; Ability to participate in all aspects of the organization and synthesize and translate what you learn verbally and in writing; Ability to create comprehensive and meaningful reports to provide executive level insight into development activities and progress toward goals; Proven stakeholder management skills demonstrating ability to establish rapport with various levels including Staff, Board of Directors, Funders, Donors, and Members; Keen attention to detail, strong organizational and technical skills, and ability to successfully multitask;  High degree of independence to excel in a remote position while working in a highly collaborative virtual environment;  Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across departments and work remotely with virtual teams across the U.S. and in Mexico City; and    Fluent in English and Spanish, preferred. 

 

Compensation

 

Hourly rate of $20 - $24, depending on experience and location.  Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position requires 7+ hours per day sitting and working from your computer. This is a remote position that can be based anywhere in the United States. Employees are required to comply with health and safety measures consistent with CDC guidelines, and federal, state, and local regulations.
