Responsible for assisting with various projects including Giving Day and Crowdfunding. The Assistant Director assist in informing, involving and getting alumni invested in Lehigh; because this is new, there will be a fair amount of experimentation and high expectations around using data to measure outcomes. Instead of planning in-person events and recruiting volunteers, the Assistant Director leverages the interactions from our online social media channels to move individual alumni along the engagement continuum. 1. Support Associate Director of Digital Communities with tasks for Giving Day, Crowdfunding and Alumni Relations (AR) website contributions
*Work with internal Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) partners and external campus partners that have signed on to crowdfunding to execute their projects
*Update regularly the onboarding materials provided to crowdfunding project groups that help guide them through the process of promoting and funding their projects
*Participate in the DAR Giving Day Team to help execute on all facets of planning and preparation for Giving Day
*Under the direction of the Associate Director, craft and manage project timelines, coordinate with gift processing, pull and manage reports and work with AR teammates to coordinate on-campus activities
*Collect all content from campus partners and post on the GiveGab (vendor partner for Giving Day) website
*Assist Associate Director and DAR Digital Marketing team to ensure AR web pages stay fresh and updated

2. Own and manage the Lehigh University Alumni LinkedIn group
*Work with the Associate Director to develop a strategy for using LinkedIn to its fullest in order to increase and strengthen alumni engagement
*Invite new members and code group members engaging regularly with Lehigh in the DAR database
*Congratulate and interact with alumni, especially when they post career updates, articles and accomplishments
*Post and repost relevant content from around the University
*Provide job title and company information to DAR Services to update records in database
*Pull LinkedIn data to provide AR and Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) teams with insights
*Experiment with LinkedIn events, LinkedIn Learning and other features of the platform that could engage alumni around professional interests

3. Deepen engagement of individuals interacting with University and DAR social media channels
*Review commenters and sharers within Lehigh University and Lehigh University Alumni Facebook and Instagram posts and interact with them as if at an event; answer questions, provide additional information and offer to take conversations offline
*Research individuals who interact frequently with our content and proactively invite them to get more informed, involved and invested; maintain records of outreach in Omni database
*Communicate relevant information to Omni, Engagement Officers, Career Services team members and Gift Officers
*Develop tactics for efficiently and effectively sharing posts from University channels with volunteer-owned digital properties

4. Support other members of the Alumni Relations team and DAR colleagues and complete general office duties as expected
*Volunteer for programs housed within DAR such as Reunion Weekend, Grad Fair Days, Send Offs, Regional events, volunteer trainings, Lehigh University Alumni Association (LUAA) Board meetings, etc.
*Complete general office duties proactively in a timely manner including budget maintenance, timesheets, OneCard reconciliation, calendar maintenance, etc.
*Provide customer service to internal and external constituents as requested and needed
*Proactively assist alumni and staff (both internal and external) and problem-solve; suggest or initiate changes and improvements to departmental processes or procedures\

Special Considerations

The duties of this position may allow the employee to work partially remote as deemed appropriate by the supervisor

Variable shifts/schedule, some evenings and weekends

Will sometimes be required to climb or balance, lift up to 25 pounds, stand, use hands to touch, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and walk

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

One to three years related work experience

Experience with building virtual relationships and takes pride in being a connector

Expertise on developing actionable analytics is critical, and an entrepreneurial mindset is helpful

Digital marketing savvy

Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and a high level of customer service required

Ability to build, foster and maintain positive professional relationships

Excellent organizational skills, time management and sound judgment

Solid analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills

Excellent computer skills with experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software

Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position
