The Rock and Soul Forever Foundation / Teachrock.org seeks a full-time Development Manager to assist the Development Team with donor research, communications, and record keeping.

The Development Manager will report to the Executive Director and work closely with Vice President of Advancement and the Director of Operations.  

This is a hybrid position. Most daily work will be remote, however there will be some in-person meetings in New York City as well as events in NY, NJ, and CT.

You Are:

  • 3-5+ years into a career in non-profit fundraising, communications, or a related field. Experience working in arts and education is a plus
  • Great with a database you already know—like Salesforce or Raiser’s Edge—confident with Microsoft Office, Apple, and Google suites, and comfortable with spreadsheet programs in general
  • Proactive, efficient, flexible and a team-player for project-based work
  • Detail oriented and able to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • A natural communicator with strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable with donors of all stripes, discrete with and unphased by celebrity
  • Actively pursuing anti-racist practices and excited to join a staff doing the same
  • Comfortable in a hybrid work remote / in-person work environment
  • Willing and able to travel to in-person events throughout NY, NJ, New England and occasionally beyond
What You’ll Do:

  • Research prospective donors and grants
  • Assist in developing, drafting, and editing emails for fundraising campaigns & events 
  • Manage a monthly donor-facing newsletter
  • Oversee and manage the donor management database to track and develop relationships, catalog donations, and book outstanding pledges
  • Oversee the gift tracking and acknowledgement process
  • Produce weekly fundraising reports
  • Assist with online events and online auctions
  • Assist department colleagues on ad hoc projects
  • Take advantage of training to support professional growth
