The Data Intelligence and Applications Analyst will be responsible for defining and implementing business intelligence (BI) technologies and services across units to enable and execute the analysis of data supportive of strategic initiatives and ongoing business needs. Working with cross-functional teams, will be required to gather, document, and approve business requirements for data analysis and reporting projects, as well as use BI and database tools to develop reporting solutions, and recommend growth strategies to meet business needs. Works in phases of systems analysis and design and considers the implications of technologies on the current business environment. The candidate should be able to perform needs analysis, design, testing, configuration and the deployment of business intelligence applications and reports.

  • Develops and produces reports and analysis comparing historical and operational measurements for planning, analytics, and forecasting. Develops and implements dashboards, reports, and queries with an emphasis on industry-specific, insightful visual representations to drive business processes, in collaboration with Advancement IT, when applicable. Compiles critical ad hoc data and report requests.
  • Works with end-users and Advancement IT to identify and document BI requirements and find solutions to functional and system issues. Provides support to specific areas in relation to specific business processes, associated with an application or system. Utilizes tools and various programming languages to ensure that the automation of routine tasks reduces manual workload, improves response times, and ensures system reliability.
  • Provides specific technical guidance to leadership to best meet functional business requirements. Writes functional and technical specifications. Develops, implements, and maintains test strategies and plans for technical specifications. Performs appropriate type and level of testing. Interacts with end-users to understand system and/or software limitations. Collaborates with Advancement-IT to create and provide end-user instruction and/or training, to support education around existing issues.
  • Interprets University and unit-specific processes and policies related to information systems and recommends new and improved programs to the Foundation to effectively manage cross-unit information systems integrations and functions. Acts as additional liaison between Foundation business units and Advancement IT, throughout implementation an delivery of solutions processes.
  • Leads small to medium BI projects, as assigned by Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Manages assigned project tasks within scope, quality, and timeframe established by supervisor, or CAO. Produces project documentation for monitoring of project status and progression.
  • Collaborates with Advancement IT in the design and implementation of required ETL pipelines.
  • Acts as an internal liaison between Foundation business units and Advancement IT and as an external liaison between the Foundation, UTS and University business units throughout the solution delivery and implementation process.
  • Interprets and implements policies and procedures as they apply to an assigned area and may recommend changes to them as necessary. Makes recommendations on existing policy and procedures, based on experience or results, for continuous improvement.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or computer- related field or related field and two (2) years of experience in related field.
