Major Gifts and Planned Giving Officer

Albert Einstein College of Medicine

Bronx, NY (Open to Hybrid Employment)

Founded in 1955, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Einstein) is one of the nation’s premier institutions for medical education, basic research, and clinical investigation. For more than 60 years, Einstein’s diverse faculty and staff have set the standard for excellence in medical and graduate education and patient-centered clinical care, and have made major contributions to scientific research enhancing human health in our communities and beyond.

Our mission is to prepare a diverse body of students to become knowledgeable, compassionate physicians and innovative scientific investigators, and to create new knowledge. A full-time faculty of some 2,000 conducts research, teaches, and delivers health care in every major biomedical specialty. The college has some 732 medical students, 190 Ph.D. students, 120 MD/Ph.D. students and 250 postdoctoral fellows. Einstein’s major strength, in addition to training physicians and scientists, is its science. During fiscal year 2021, the faculty’s consistently high level of scientific achievement resulted in the awarding of more than $185 million in peer-reviewed grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Einstein is part of Montefiore Medicine Academic Health System, an integrated academic delivery system comprising 11 hospitals, including the Children's Hospital at Montefiore, Burke Rehabilitation Hospital and close to 200 outpatient care sites. Montefiore’s partnership with Einstein advances clinical and translational research to accelerate the pace at which new discoveries become the treatments and therapies that benefit patients. The health system derives its inspiration for excellence from its patients and community, and continues to be on the front lines of developing innovative approaches to care.

Einstein seeks a dynamic and experienced development professional to serve as Major Gifts and Planned Giving Officer (Officer). The Officer will work collaboratively with Einstein’s frontline fundraising, events, and alumni teams to identify, cultivate, and solicit donors and prospects for major, blended, and deferred gifts through estates, trusts, and various other financial vehicles. The successful candidate will serve as a content expert in planned giving and coach colleagues, faculty, and volunteers on how to cultivate and solicit these types of gifts.

The Officer will report to the Senior Director of Major Gifts.
