The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Corporate Partnerships Specialist – New Business is responsible for identifying, researching, and selling new partnerships and program underwriting in support of the mission of WWP, and drives WWP’s revenue growth through implementation of established strategies and tactics to cultivate future strong corporate relationships. The Corporate Partnerships Specialist – New Business provides expertise and support to development teams and works directly with the Manager of New Business to maximize the return on new partners opportunities. This individual will also work in collaboration with WWP’s internal support and programs teams, working together to secure high dollar, annual and multi-year funding and support to help achieve WWP’s program and revenue goals.


 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify new partnership opportunities in support of Wounded Warrior Projects (WWP) that raises revenue and increase awareness of WWP’s programs and services.
  • Obtain new annual and multi-year partnerships, focusing on six-to-seven figure dollar opportunities.
  • In collaboration with the Manager of New Business, manage request, leads and contacts and engage those leads accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain an active new business pipeline of qualified potential sponsors.  Update and share that pipeline with leadership on a continuous basis. 
  • Effectively communicate to prospective partners the value of WWP and the impact that their financial support will deliver to wounded warriors and their families.
  • Work with Corporate Partnership account team to help manage deliverables and transition of new partnerships.
  • Create and maintain a professional network on behalf of Wounded Warrior Project.
  • Effectively articulate, verbally and in writing, WWP’s history, mission, vision, and programs to all new potential funding sources.
  • Work with the Manager of New Business to develop and maintain a strategy to actively solicit the support of WWP leadership within the new business process.
  • Track communications within Monday and Salesforce CRM platforms to capture new business activity and ensure prioritizing of company passions through relationship based fundraising strategies.
  • Represent WWP in speaking to, and training of, corporate organizations, community audiences, and donors.
  • Establish effective working relationships and work collaboratively with WWP teammates across the organization, e.g., Communications, Marketing, Programs, Legal and other Resource Development teams, working cross channels to garner new partnerships.
  • In collaboration with the Manager of New Business, quarterly evaluate the new business initiative to identify continuous improvement opportunities and efficiencies to save donor dollars.
  • Provide monthly acquisition projections and forecasting.
  • Manage overall sales trends in giving with support from analytics team.
  • In collaboration with the Manager of New Business, establish and annual new business budget and manage that budget efficiently throughout the year.
  • Travel as needed to meet with prospective partners.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrated understanding of Wounded Warrior Project and its mission, values, programs, and services, and the impact of these programs and services on wounded warriors and their families.
  • Demonstrated understanding of military service organizations (MSOs) and veteran service organizations (VSOs).
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency using Microsoft Office, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • High energy level, self-starter, and willing to take initiative.
  • Unequivocal commitment to the highest standards of personal and business ethics and conduct.

EXPERIENCE

Requirements

  • Three years of business-to-business sales or fundraising experience.
  • Three years of demonstrated achievement identifying, cultivating, and soliciting companies or donors.
  • Three years of experience working with senior management and executives.

Preferences

  • Five years of experience working in a non-profit organization.
  • Three years of account management and marketing experience.

EDUCATION

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree. Equivalent combination of education, experience, training, and certification may be considered in lieu of degree.

 

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURE

 

Requirements

  • Valid state-issued driver’s license.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to work in a WWP’s office a minimum of three days per week and when appropriate, remotely two days per week.
  • General office environment: temperature controlled.
  • May require participation in events under varying weather conditions.
  • Up to 30% travel.
  • May require lifting/carrying items up to 25 pounds.

For Colorado Applicants: The estimated hiring range for this position is between $58,400 - $73,000 annual base salary, subject to a candidate’s combination of experience, qualifications, and credentials. This position may also be eligible for an annual performance incentive.

 

For New York Applicants: The estimated hiring range for this position is between $67,160 - $83,950 annual base salary, subject to a candidate’s combination of experience, qualifications, and credentials. This position may also be eligible for an annual performance incentive.
