Executive Director

Maine Broadband Coalition (MBC) is seeking an Executive Director who has the passion for and dedication to bridging the digital divide in Maine through inclusion, adaption, and education. The Executive Director will continue the work and facilitate the Coalition’s continued growth.  

The Maine Broadband Coalition (MBC) represents hundreds of organizations and thousands of Internet users and provides a hub for information, policy support and capacity building throughout Maine as it relates to advocacy for universal high-speed internet access in the state. 

Primary Responsibilities:  

• Lead the MBC in increasing impact, strengthening programming, and deepening strategic organizational partnerships 
• Facilitate strategic and work plans in reflection of advisory committee goals, objectives, and priorities 
• Recruit, manage and coordinate with the Advisory Committee  

• Execute and manage strategic and work plans 
• Develop funding to support staff, partners, and strategic objectives 
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with funding organizations to secure financial resources to deliver strategic goals 
• Ensure program implementation, communications, and resource sharing 
• Build, maintain and iterate necessary organizational systems to achieve optimal performance 

• Set and maintain budget and financial records 
• Ensure compliance with all necessary funding and organizational reporting 
• Support, guide and manage the Board of Directors 

Job Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years equivalent experience  
• Nonprofit management experience  
• Experience leading coalitions or networks of organizations/people 
• Knowledge of local government and under-resourced places and populations 
• Knowledge and experience of fundraising and creation of revenue generation 

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills 
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects 
• Attention to detail 

 Anticipated salary is $80-90K with near term growth opportunities for the right candidate
