Grant Manager, Democratic Governance and Civic Engagement

This is a new position for the Porticus North America team.  As a Grant Manager you will build the regional portfolio of partnerships in Democratic Governance and Civic Engagement with a focus on North America. Deep understanding of the American system of government and the current challenges confronting it is a must.  Grant Manager will serve as a liaison to the global working groups, collaborating with colleagues to collect, synthesize, and disseminate learnings and recommendations on the topic across the organization. For this role we are looking for a confident self-starter with an understanding of grant-making and the ways in which philanthropy can partner with non-profit organizations, academic institutions, and advocacy organizations to strengthen democracy.

Grant Manager will have experience and comfort navigating relationships and bridge-building across different ideologies.

Grant Manager will identify and recommend opportunities to bridge differences and address hyper-partisanship and polarization in our region with a youth-facing lens.

Grant Manager will build a portfolio of partnerships that address root causes of fragility, conflict, violence, and weak governance in a manner that promotes empowerment and incorporates gender equity and inclusion of excluded groups.
